Im sure im not only one wondering what happened to member GTS (George). He built a IIC head shell for me last year, and quality of his work was outstanding. His insight into technical questions on this forum was also great and helpful.

His account seems to be deleted, and im curious, what happend and will he be back?

Cheers

... besides the lack of a great friend and person on the board, has anyone actually thought about the loss of information that has resulted ? reading through some of the topics he shared his knowledge in, is like a swiss cheese ! well, nothing against swiss cheese ... :D ... if it is nicely served on a plate, where it belongs to, but its a wealth of information and help that was up here within many topics, which just disappeared. so its really a double loss at this point ... :(

It appears from GIG4FUN's post he has be re-instated. If so, welcome back George!

Not only is his account gone, but all of his posts.

At the very least his postings could be restored back here. GTS's threads were a serious reference for lots of stuff. I can understand locking someones account for some type of policy violation or whatever, but to remove their history is a disservice to the remaining members that benefited from it.

Why punish the masses over a disagreement with one member?

The forum should be able to restore his posts. Deleting them was just harsh, suspending his account would have accomplished the same thing without obliterating a wealth of information.

But, albeit the internet: It is a privilege to be here. Ned has the right to do as he see's fit.
I am not sure all of this is helpful. I think that it is best to leave this off the forum and keep it to PM's and phone calls. I don't think this thread is in the right section, and it may be moved or deleted.
I hope this works out for us to have what we want (I wish for George and his posts to return), but we are all guests at neds place. I worry that posts like this one just stir the pot. Don't forget, neds been here a long time too, He know's what gts contributed.

LIFE'S TOO SHORT.....

to put up with net forum bullsh!t

if george feels more comfortable being off the forum, then let it be.

can't blame him for bailing.

I must say though that his posting his rant thread every 3 minutes got annoying. Another member got snooty with him in an older thread and GTS tried to make a federal case about it.

I don't know anything about the threads involved and I have no dog in the hunt on any issues or views anyone involved may have taken. I think this forum is a wealth of information and there are so many great people here. I've spent countless hours researching and posting about amps, cabs, tubes, etc and have made some great friends here. My only contribution to this discussion is about the loss of content.

We all know how often people come and ask the same questions. We regularly refer them to take some time and search things out, knowing they will come across discussions from days past. To lose the history of a member who many feel made long lasting contributions over the years (regardless of current issues or conflicts), is just difficult for me to understand.

As a member of this community, I felt to express my view.
This is Ned's forum and he can and will do as he see's fit.

Mongo out.... 8)
