Found a 2011 Vintage 30(MIC) for a good price, and decided to try it into my Rectoverb v2 combo, and I really love it.
Second channel on the Vintage mode sounds more focused/tighter, and less mushy overall. Sounds good to on the clean channel,
but the stock C90 might be a bit better for cleans IMO.

When I started looking for a V30, I fall into the rabbit hole on infos on them, which versions/years are the best and so on, and I didn't wanted to over-analysing this.
I would like to try a Mesa version eventually, but the v30 I've found really do the job at the moment.

Well 🤭 opinions do differ.. Personally the V30 has been best all arounder in any cab. After swapping from C90 to V30 in ED combo the amp started to work properly for my playing.

I tried my Fillmore 23 cab with the stock C90, and it sounds really good. Even if the Fillmore's construction is different,
the C90 bring some weight to the tone. Reminds me of the Roadking 2x12 cab I used to own.

Hard to resist a good v30 vs MC-90 chat :p

The MC-90 to my ears has a pretty even freq response, nice tight bottom and decent enuf top end. Some may find it uninspiring but it seems to play nice with many of the Mesa models. I find it cuts thru well in live situations and currently my 1x12 WB cab is the #1 choice for small venues with the V:90 or the Badlander 50. With a Fillmore I would think it is a good fit.

The Mesa v30, in my experience has been a moving target. It was a can of bees with the Stiletto yet a really nice fit with the bass heavy LSS. The Recto 30 2x12, while punchy was simply one dimensional, not much bottom and that midrange hump was grinding. Just didn't float my boat with the Marks at all, opted to reconfigure it as a Roadking with an MC-90, much better for what I look for. But right as I had almost given up on them, along comes the Badlander and the CabcloneIR. The 4x12 v30 IR is most excellent and believe the larger cab is a defining factor.
