Looking for a few vids of the mark v in a live scenario as im thinking of buying one. Most vids are of just the amp on on its own but id like to hear it in a band scenario which is where it matters most.Other than john petrucci i cant really think of anyone that plays one to be honest and petrucci's style isnt how id see myself using it really .Checked the mesa site but theres no solid info really.Any info or hopefully links to vids would be much appreciated. Thanks

Marks versions aren't like Marshalls in that Marshall releases a new different sounding amp every decade. Marks iterations, the lead channel anyway, are just refinements of the basic "Mark tone" - they're aren't as drastic a change as say a JCM 800 was to a JCM 900 for example. Listen to Hetfield, Sykes, Lamb of God, the Weezer blue album... They're all Marks.

An interesting request to assist you in making a amp choice. I cannot say that I have seen many videos or live performances featuring many other than John Petrucci as you mentioned. But then again for new artists how many amps do you see anymore. Jason Aldean's band uses Mesa Boogie Rectifier's and they are Country, sort of. Andy Timmons uses Mesa Boogie as does the Foo Fighters well you can go on and on. As for someone that is a recording artist that uses a Mark V, hmmm.

Here is Brad Gillis of Night Ranger playing his Mark V full Stack https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9vRty6qwGzI

Best to just try every amp you can find and get the one that makes you happy. That is what I did. I read every review, listened to everything I could find, I contacted company reps. I asked about service, repair, every little thing. Here are a few I checked out ENGL, Two Rock, Orange, Bad Cat, Voodoo I have a list of probably 7 or so more I checked out. I even checked out Marshall but Marshalls are like opinions so I will add I half heartedly checked out Marshall.

And I own a Mark V with two 2 X 12 Vert cabs. I thought it let me sound like me.

There is my 2cents.

Sure that was Brad Gillis and not Dennis Quaid 8) ?
Interesting,,

Nice tone either way

I am trying to find a video of me playing live where you can hear the Mark V well.

http://youtu.be/Kg9b_TX8rKA

I am stage left playing through my Mark V. This is a camera mix, and I am kinda louder than my band mates for most of it. The second guitar is a Mesa Dual Rec Roadster. The outro solo is in Mark IV mode, neck pickup.

No video persay, but the same combo of Mark V and Dual Rec Roadster, recorded live through a board and mixed after the fact. I can be heard with the Mark V on the right side of the mix.

Both videos I am playing a Schecter Jeff Loomis with EMG 707's

This is with my other band, and was recorded live off the board. Several of the songs I am actually mistuned a half step. I am playing a Schecter Solo 6 for this recording and am in the left side of the mix. The second amp is a Fender 2x12.

Every time I hear myself recorded I hear how much more I need to practice, hahaha

If you search youtube for Flying Covers, I posted vids of my band. I am on the left side using a Mark V head and two 1 x 12 Bogners.

This was recorded through a camera Mic outdoors. I am louder than the other guitar player who is using a Fuchs.
