Just re-tubed my Triple Rectifier. Filled it up with JJs.

6 - JJ 6l6s and for an option 6 JJ EL34L ( i like the EL34L )

All preamp tubes are JJs.

I picked up a couple tung-sols to to try out in V1 (one in my Mesa and one in my Marshall)

Both these tubes seem to glow very lightly, Is this common?
At first I thought they where just duds.

One more Q. If a tube was a dud and not working, what would happen?
No sound, less sound... this dim lighting confuses me.

Pete, I've noticed the same thing with all the Tung-sols I run em V1, V3, V4 and they all are somewhat dim. I run a GT12x7C in V2 and its fully lit in V5 I've got a =c= its lit and V6 5751 and its lit.Sorry I cant answer that but I noticed the same thing.I'll tell ya though they're definately workin man.I've been doin a lot of switchin of preamp tubes lately and those Tungs smoke the rest! They really wake up every channel .It seems everytime I switch them out I immediately want'em back in.Maybe it is what it is with Dimming?

I just replaced all my preamp tubes with the Tung Sol Reissues and they sound great! You're right though, they don't glow very brightly at all. But, who cares as long as they're still doing the job. :)
