Hi guys,

I have a V1 Triaxis with me at the moment, but the manual is V2, so I don't have a description of the LD1 Red mode. Does anyone know what LD1 Red in the version 1 Triaxis is meant to be like?

Any idea where I might be able to get a copy of the V1 manual from?

Just got off the phone with Mesa Support. Red mode is going to be a Mark III or IIc+ sound on the latest version, but may be a Recto sound on your version.

I've got a paper copy (not scanned) that I made from my original (from the first year of production). I can mail you a copy - just PM me with your address. Or I'll quote from it, about the Lead 1 Red. The original manual is tiny, and doesn't say much of substance. Just let me know your preference.

Thank T!

I'm in Australia, so a quote will suffice. Thank you very much for your kind offer,...

Oops! I had a reply all set last night, with quotes from the manual, and then all hell broke loose at home. I must have hit preview instead of submit. Ah, parenthood...

I can almost remember the quotes verbatim, since they're so short. It really is a sub-minimal "manual." For the Lead 1 Red mode, it simply said something like "high gain British lead." And under the description of the one factory preset in Lead 1 Red (factory preset 05), it said almost the same thing, but included "crunch" and a recommendation for use with humbuckers (probably because its so sizzly). That's all they wrote about it. I remember being surprised at the lengthy manual that came out a couple of years after I got my Triaxis.

I think the original Lead 1 Red is based on the Mark IV high gain lead. Now that they've run out of components for the Recto circuit in the Triaxis, I believe Mesa's reverted to this original Lead 1 Red circuit. So a new Triaxis will have the version-1 Lead 1 Red, and any info about the current Triaxis would apply to that oldest model.
