Hi guys,
I'm new here, but not a noob. I had a Triaxis from '92 - '05, but sold it because it was having problems locking up. All of the LED's would go black and it would not respond to any front panel changes or messages from my RS-10. I replaced it with a RoadKing, but now find myself really missing the tones and flexibilty of the Triaxis. I am more into the "Mark" series tones than the rectifier sound, and a midi preamp is just what I need. I have several friends that owned a Triaxis and experienced the same problems. Has Mesa straightened this problem out? Have any of you guys had this problem?
Thanks!
dB

The problem was most likely related to the internal ribbon cables. If you reseat them it will most likely fix your problems.

I had my Triaxis reset on me if I was editing a patch and hit a bad sequence of buttons but I never had the display fritz out on me.

I had the same issues with mine. What I did to fix it was to put a small amount of Hot glue on each side of each ribbon cable plug. This will hold them in place and it will not damage the circuit board and is easily removable if you should need to repair the unit.

I'm currently having this problem and e mailed mesa boogie..the guy said most likely the ribbon cable which sounds right because i can still change patches via midi but front panel doesn't work..I'll try it and get back

no I mean if that cable is a problem why they are still using it ?
Or at least, write in its manual about the future problems with that cable !!!

So you want them to write in the manual........" If your Triaxis is old take it apart and unplug some ribbon cables.....yeah go ahead F!@$ up you TA and then you can send it to us and we'll repair it for you after you F^%!@% it up."

I don't think so........

Some problems could be fixed cleaning the ribbon cables .
I don't think it is too much.
And if somebody break it,better to them when charging .

I checked some of the ribbon cables and they all looked fine...there is an obvious one to check but i wonder does anyone know which one specically to check..they are marked h4..h5 etc..

Pull the cables near the display out and reseat them. If you can't figure it out then you probably shouldn't be messing with it and need a tech to help.

Yes..I did say that there was an obvious cable..mabye you missed that.. it is however possible that this obvious cable which is the first thing anyone would check could carry the signal and then be taken up by another cable or it could split off to other cables..this is what i was asking..i only asked this question after i checked this obvious cable and it still froze at gig last night..naturally i don't want to go pulling at cables that are perfectly fine...
just to clarify..i already checked the obvious cable..first thing i did.. anyone any idea if any other cables are involved in the signal path from front panel to signal destination..
