The Strip (ever been to Vegas?)

my little ode to the wonderful trashpit that is Vegas.

this features a 60 watt Mark 2B w/GEQ into a avatar vintage with a celestion heritage G12H.
sound captured by a Palmer pdi-09.

The Strip
oh yea, i'm gonna go.....
on the strip you will feel no pain
it's all your future to gain
all the signs, they look the same

come in, sit down, order up another round
look up, and you'll see, state-of-the-art security
i swear, i think i saw that one armed bandit
wink at me....
can't you see

Strip is where you'll lose it all,
the flickers show you who to call,
then you'll have yourself a ball

come on down, walk around,
see the clowns, make their rounds
watch all the lights, see all the sights,
witness all the fights, it's all right!

Nice set up you got there. How do you like the Deja Vibe? I've been trying to get myself a KR Megavibe to add to my pedalboard. Where do you put the vibe in your signal chain?

i dig the mini deja.

would love the full blown version on the treadle, but this was all i could afford.

budda wah>>planet waves strobe tuner>>Deja vibe>>barber DDSS>>Barber tone press>>ISP Decimator

the other missing piece from the previous pics, is the Yamaha DG Stomp for the effects loop:

only one reply?

no love for the mark2b?!

LOL

i guess it's just too old.....

that's why i dig it..
more than the more modern versions.

kinda warms my heart.

those are some really good tones there. cleans are fabulous and the lead tone is really sweet. GJ!

nice tones as usual! so those electric guitar tracks were all direct? it sounded really smooth. how would you compare the palmer DI sound to the GH-30?

kiff
thanks man!
i twist those knobs often.... they never set anywhere for long....
i swear, i think it's in the electricity some times...

lyman
thanks for listening...
yes, all the electric tracks were captured thru the palmer.
it's not exactly "Direct", because it is a cab sim, it applies some kind of eq to it.
all i know is, it sounds very natural.
the only thing i seem to lose, is the room sound, which i can apply back with judicious reverb or delay settings.

the Heritage G12 i've got, has more harmonic richness, more depth and bottom, than the palmer can give.
if i had a really good ribbon mic, i'd probably still try to close mic even at low volume, just to get that.

speaker, always wins.

well, did some re-tracking with the good ole mic, and decided i still liked the palmer sound better.
go figure.

still experimenting....
