The funny thing is, I was watching your videos right before the purchase, and I didn’t expect it to be the very same amp! Either way, I guess the Dimebucker and the EVM speakers add some brightness to it, but the overall tone seems to be more raw before the mod. Now I would say that it sounds smoother and more polished. BTW, do you remember what tubes you had in there at the time? I currently have GT 6L6 CHP in between and Winged C EL34 in the outer sockets. Anyway, as you wrote earlier, the gain on this thing is terrific (I got the Esp Horizon tuned down to B standard, and it stays tighter compared to what I’ve previously experienced with both the Mark IV and the V), even without the second + engaged, and it’s surprisingly quite too, for the first time in many years I’m not using a noise gate. The clean is just gorgeous as well, it has plenty of headroom. The second channel is ok, but I don’t care too much about it. Anyhow, enjoy the JP-2C, I’ll take good care of your old girl. :mrgreen:Markedman said:I also said I'd never sell it. I had a real hard time letting that one and the 72 Marshall super lead go. As you can see in the pictures I also had a Mark three blue stripe along with the studio preamp Simul-stereo 295 set up. I posted a bunch of YouTube videos comparing them along with Mark llC+. I contemplated buying the amp back after the mod but I have a JP2C coming, hopefully this week. Definately the Mark lll amps are the best value out there. Btw, I paid $450 for it off of eBay when I bought it!
