Speaker choice for a mark IIB(Advice please?)

I just prefer the MS -12 (in a C+) when using a single 12". And I love the EVM12L in a thiele.

But I have also use an EV in a combo with a "foam donut hole" over it. This (in theory) supposedly disperses/ spreads the sound more evenly.
It also attenuated the highs a bit making it more MS-12-like in that department.
Maybe attenuated them a bit more but to make up for this I adjusted the EQ.
