Thought I would try to talk some sense to him...

Dude... I thought it was a nice add but... that guitar is HIDEOUS! No one will be impressed with that guitar. It won't make anyone feel comfortable about handing over they're guitar to you. May I suggest a nice DTM or Gibson stock photo or if you are into the 80's a Hamer Standard or Jackson or something? Just a word of advise.

wtf? thats a left handed explorer.. that i built.. its not a production guitar..
i think a fail is a bit lame, considering they dont make left handed explorers.. i have a lot of money into that guitar and am also a superman fan.. i didnt build it for anyone but myself..
i also have a JS30rr Jackson that i got for really really cheap and switched it to a left handed nut, upside down rhoads..
i have quite a few guitars and have only built two explorers.. im not looking to get rich off this, just something to do on the side for the love of guitars.. i barely make enough to buy new strings really.. so yeah if you wouldnt mind i think the fail is a little harsh..what is it that makes you think its so hideous? a real Lefty Jackson RR1 is more than the car i drive, so i kind of incorporated that into what i wanted in the explorer..
thats kinda the point of custom guitars...

That same dude contacted me about an ad I had in Craigslist looking for a band. Wanted me to try out for their "3rd guitar position". I wanted to check it out to make sure it would be worth my time, so I asked him for some sound clips. Never heard from him again.
