I love the ignore function on this board
Back on track. I've got my new rig set up to run a L/R to a PA and another L/R to my power amp then into my cab simultaneously for gigs. That's another super cool thing on the Axe-Fx is that you can program multiple output configurations. I have the outs for the PA set up with cabinets and mic sims and the ones going to my cab have the cab and mic sims defeated. I'm going to have my buddy bring over his Mesa Recto cab soon so I can A/B it with the Axe-Fx Recto cab sims.
This thing really has my head spinning with all the possibilities. Never thought I'd own a piece of gear that made a Mark IV seem simple.

sorry if I missed this, but what are you using to power your AXE? Porn I mean pics of your new lame rig? (totally kidding, but not about the pics!)

I'll get pics up as soon as I can. I'm running the Axe into a QSC RMX1450 power amp to a Marshall 4x12 cab and I'm also running a second output to my PA system.

The Mark IV model may even be better than a Mark IV.

YAWN.
Yeah, a new awesome piece of gear is pretty boring huh. Go troll on someone elses thread.

No. You made a statement that a MKIV emulation may be better than the real thing. Don't care to discuss or prove it? Just go and hide then from your ridiculous claim.

I gotta agree with THTH on this. Statements like this kinda reduce your credibility, at least in the short term while the "new gear" romance has captured you. Nonetheless, enjoy! 8)

Hey man, my ears and my opinion. Take it for what it's worth and it's worth exactly what you've paid for it. To me the Axe models the nuances perfectly of my old Mark IV that I love and it seemed to have fixed a couple that I didn't care for hence the "better" comment. No 2 people will agree 100% on something as personal as the tone and feel of an amp. I'm just saying that thus far I have no regrets.

I had my first full band practice with my new rig last night. Ran the Axe-Fx into my power amp and to a cab and holy sh!t! It passed the band test with flying colors for sure. I mainly played the Diezel amp for rhythm and the Marsha for solos and it cut through the mix as well as my old Mark IV.

Had our first gig since I got the Axe-Fx. Ran in stereo to the house PA and ran a mono signal to my power amp and cab for some stage noise. :D I believe this song was done with the Marsha Brown Eye amp and Marshall cabs with greenback speakers. Still no regrets. (I do wish I could have afforded to have the Axe and my Mark IV but money sucks right now) I'm the fanboi with the ESP Exploder.

Yeah, I don't think anyone is doubting that you are enthusiastic about your new rig. I just think that the skeptics in this thread forgot that, while your statement seemed to be a sweeping generalization, what it really translates as: "YOU feel YOU sound better through YOUR Axe than you did through YOUR Mark IV as dialed in by YOU." That's great! It means you are bonding with your new rig. You, of course, can't possibly be speaking for ALL Mark IVs played as played and dialed by ALL guitarists.
