Yowza..... This Flea-bay listing says his Mark III amp has a 60/100 watt power switch and he is running 6L6's and EL-84's. Hmmm, if memory serves, without simul-class you can't run different power tubes. So, if the amp has 60/100, not simul-class, isn't there a problem with him running different tube pairs? Oh, and if it in fact does have simul-class, can he run EL-84's? I thought it was only EL-34's? My quick review of the Mark III manual confirms what I think is accurate.

Yow, this could be a recipe for disaster?

Must be a typo. Unless he did major surgery, or bought THD's or Groove Tube's adapters.
EL-84s won't fit in octal tube sockets as they are much smaller.
Mark IIIs were made until '98.
 
I didn't know that! I thought I 'studied' enough through manuals and forums etc. for weeks... Thanks for enlightening me.
I recently got my first mesa...there is so much to learn.
