Lookin to get a good rust in piece tone if anyone has any suggestions. Using a Mark III blue stripe head with simul class (and EQ) and a 4 x 12 closed back recto cab, no effects pluggin straight in.

Me and my bass player were listening to Rust in peace on the way home the other day.
I recall him saying something along the lines of "your roland microcube sounds better than the guitar tone on this album"

Dont get me wrong , I love that album.
Cant say Im a fan of the production tho

I prefer the guitar tone and production on "countdown to extinction"
or the latest one "united ambitions"

the playing on rust is awesome tho

a couple of songs off rust are re-mastered on the greates hits album and they sound better than the original.

IMO of course

I have to agree with you sir riff a lot. Rust In piece is a KILLER album, but not what I think of as a great Megadeth guitar tone. No offense BLACKLABEL.

Anyways if you want to get close. I would say lots of treble and presence, it has some sort of fizzyness to it... I don't know... :(

Wait did they remix that album?
