My Roadster has toasted 2 V1 valves over the last 6 weeks on start-up. Changed valve after the first blow up, and all has been good until it popped again last night. The first was a Tung Sol, the 2nd a JJ

I follow the usual start up proceedure, leave the FS in CH3 (50W Tube Rec), and get nada after flipping standby to off. Everything else is lit and working well

Any ideas? I'm thinking it could be the Rec valves, but not sure as the problem is intermittent

As an update - I changed both rec valves, which opened up the tone and response of the amp a little

Like what the change did to the tone (which I did not expect), but still have no idea what fried both V1's, or if this will cure the issue. We'll see ..

Anyone experienced anything similar?
