2009 Roadster...........

Well, I changed to tubes out to EL34's within a week of purchase......that has given me back the "bite" I was missing.
I struggled with the 6L6's and it ain't happening. They should give you a choice on tubes when you purchase it.
They don't........
The 6's are a fine tube but do not cut it for "Marshall" type tones.
I don't like the Roadster FX loop. I've turned the send down as low as I can and it still fucks with the tone.
I'm just running the new Line6 DL4 through that. I see now I'm going to send it in to Keeley for the mod. He puts better converters in it. It gets a little cold & flat when you kick it on...but **** sure replicates the delays nicley!
The new OCD pedal is ridiculous.......the best OD on the market. That fuckin' thing sounds killer on the front end of the Roadster. Dial in a good rythmn tone and kick that baby in for solo's..........man!
So far with lots of tweaking, and tube replacement, the amp is shaping up to be a monster. It's an amp that you just don't take out of the box and go.......it has a learning curve. I couldn't imagine the Road King.........mixing 34's & 6's.....****.

I like the Bold setting best and Modern for channel 4.........channel 3 sounds like a Marshall....I use that on Vintage. Have yet to start on 1&2.......looking foward to it.
That's my view so far.

It's good to see somebody is on the same ship as me.

Im enjoying My RK II more and more each day. It's been a graft, but i'm loving the way things are shaping up. I've no idea how people can complain about the lack of gain on these things, anywhere past 2 is way too much for my taste and thats when im in vintage mode! A BB preamp in front really tightened things up for me too. Love that pedal.

I've also read alot of good things about replacing the V1 to a Tung-Sol so i've got me one heading my way in the post

I'm also looking to change the P/I to a 12AT7. Has anyone done this? Apparently it makes it tighter and give the tone more clarity.

Uh, you are not suppose to turn down the send control too low. That would actually start colouring the tone just a little more IME...
