I've played the ca ca out of my new amp this weekend. One thing I noticed the sound can bite your head off with a strat or gibby. I had the LSS combo before. I wonder, would the half open design of the road king cab give me a more rounded sound than the recto 2x12? I play classic rock, not too much chunka there.

The open back is a little brighter sounding and not as much low end in a live situation, but it comes across on recordings just as huge. Rectifier combos w/open backs (this excludes Roadsters) all sound like the speakers are about to explode if you do a lot of chunka chunka on it, but it's just the nature of the beast..... and like I said, it doesn't come across like that in recordings.

I found I like my open back more for leads too as it seems to add just a hint more mids in the sound.
