I guess I'll put this news here since I haven't seen it discussed... sorry it's linking to a different forum.

Funny how everyone gets all weird about "pre-Gibson/post-Gibson" quality but this gets rumored and everyone loses their minds...

This is so spot on, 100%

Especially considering that this would clearly have been a Gibson HQ business decision.

Obviously they know what they’re doing.

Sounds like they're reverse engineering the original magical output transformers from the 2C+. Apparently it's a limited run of 200 though... typical Gibson lol

I saw someone pre-ordered the IIc+ at $3,700 USD as some dealers are allowing preorders. Considering that the amp they are replicating goes for $12k+ and is one of the top sought out amps in the world, I can’t see the very fair price $3,700 would be for a limited edition amp and would be a real kick in the balls to all the people that will never be able to get a hold of the real IIc+.

Which dealers? I'm emailing all my local Mesa Dealers right now for a chance to get on the list

The poster didn’t say, he said he found 2 dealers that were accepting preorders. This was on one of the Mesa forums on Facebook. I will post the post if I find it again.

Found it here: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/gNZDCeNNmTBVkvAZ/

Someone also posted a receipt showing he put a deposit down, I thought it was the same user so he may have deleted it.

Still no EU distribution. So this release will really suck for us if it’s limited to 200 amps.

Mesa had plans but they got lazy at some point before covid.

Maybe it won't be a limited run, that's just what some of the guys on rig talk were saying. It definitely would be strange for a limited run to be sold at that price

1: Only the well heeled and well connected will EVER get a chance to buy one of these from Mesa. At the very minimum, I expect nobody who isn't at the level of a social media influencer to be given a chance to make a deposit for one. I'm a nobody, and will never be presented with that opportunity. But I would, today, if given the opportunity.

2: The notion that the run will be limited due to parts availability is nonsense. It'll be limited to keep prices up. There's not a part in a Mark IIC+ that can't be reproduced exactly or replaced with a 100 percent good workable substitute.

3: There's NO evidence, not a speck, that Gibson plans to send amp production overseas. Mesa was fortunate to be bought by Gibson, of all companies, because Gibson is far from perfect but at least understands the value of "American Made, World Played" and has been steadfast in its commitment to American manufacturing of Gibson guitars. It's a corporate value with Gibson and I don't expect them to allow Mesa amps to be outsourced. Not at any time in the foreseeable future. Mesa does very well by selling only a premium amp line, the cheapest of which is still 1300 or 1400 dollars. No other big name amp company has such an expensive overall product line, and yet Mesa is doing strong business.
