Recto 2x12 with blown speaker?

I was doing some playing this morning and I noticed thtat i was only getting sound from one speaker in the cab. I called a friend of mine who runs a music shop and he suggested that i try the 9v battery trick to check and see if both speakers respond and only the right speaker did. He said it was most likely that it is blown and far less likely that anything is wrong with the wiring. I bought this cab used at gc and I would have to call Mesa to find out if it is even new enough to still be under warranty but I doubt it. So I wonder should I spen $75-$100 to recone it or just spend $129 to buy a new speaker direct from Mesa.

I would go one further and buy 2 new speakers and keep the extra as a spare.

Crisis Averted! Brought my cab over to my buddy at the music shop today and after pulling off the back we discovered that the speaker was not blown but just not hooked up. The wires were just hanging there- It looks the solder joints just let go. He go out his gun, reconnected the speaker and I am back in business. Some days things just go your way.
