I got the roadster. I still have my rack with 2:90 and Triaxis.
Got this amp because it's full tube with rectifiers.
The clean channel is much better then the dual and triple rectifier.
I'm missing the stereo thing though in my effects. My chorus and modulations sound so much better in stereo. Even though I use just a split cab.
The modern mode is much more brutal then anything I can get on the Triaxis with 2:90 in modern mode.

Maybe there shoul be a roadster additional poweramp or a second rectifier. Does anyone use a dual rectifier and roadster stereo? :?:

I'm kinda curious who plays in mono and who in stereo.

I'm using 2 Dual Rectifiers in stereo in my live setup. During rhythm-playing I have no fx going, but during solos and cleans I have stereo patches.

Yes to me the same thing, with triaxis.. My rhymn sound is dry without any effects for 90% of the time. My FX unit is the TC-Electronic G-system.

Just curious. Do you use the pre-amp of 1 amp then FXloop send to FX and then to FX loop return of both amps? I've also seen playes that used a delay that splitted their sound to 2 amps, but I don't like distorted delays. In my opinion this makes a muddy sound.
What FX unit do you use and do you ever use effect between your amp and guitar?

I use a TC G-force...so our systems are kind of similar, and yes - I run them as You described. Singe pream send into the returns of both heads.

As far as I can understand using a delay before the amps should be OK if You really split the signals L&R, so that one is pure direct and one is delayed a few ms (NOT merged in the same output of the delay unit)...or maybe it's exactly this You don't like ? :)

I'm using a Morley wah and recently (on one show) I've tried using a Fulldrive 2 before the amp. This is since I've experimented with EMG's and I kind of liked how they sounded better through the boost...but, I might stop using both EMG's and Fulldrives...we'll see :)

OK yeah I tried a short delay, but it seemed a phase like effect. So at some spots the sound was fat and other spots on stage it seemed thin.
Maybe there was something wrong with my setup, but I never tried it after that.

I tried the Full Drive 2 too, but it didn't bring that much. The only mode I liked was the compressed. When adding drive it was on the clean channel and this sounded as a duplicate of channel 2 Brit mode of the Roadster.
The second button (boost) didn't do much or wasn't as usable as the solo mode on the rectifier. Can also be because I used it in a loop of the G-system... :?

As far as EMG's concern they are useable, but have a very distinct sound that is less versatile then normal passive pickups. Clean with 85 singlecoil tend to sound like an instant Mark Knopfler/David Gilmour. 81 is instant Metallica.
I really like the high output pickups in my PRS custom24, plus the singlecoil mode is also better then any humbucker I've heard.

What kind effect do you use to fatten up the clean and solos?
My clean most of the time just has a few short delays and reverb.
In some cases I add chorus or a phasing effect.
For solo I use longer delays with dynamic mode so if you play fast the notes are not mudded with delays. I really like that feat on the TC-units.

i like stereo better for effects - i had a Line6 HD147 halfstack for 2 years, 300wats (150watt/side). but i dont really use effects, so im happy with my TR now - but yea, I find stereo better for effects

and CJG - that is a sweet f'in setup man (i looked at the link in your sig)

You already have a 2:90, so assuming you can put your hands on enough speaker cabs (at least 3) try this...

Roadster into one cab, no effects other than what you would use in the front end (wah, boost, noise gate, whatever)

Slave Out from the Roadster into mono input of your FX, stereo out from FX into the inputs of the 2:90, into 2 cabs.

Yes its a hassle packing all that gear around, but when you hear it 8)

+1 Wet/Dry/Wet setups give you the best of both worlds.

Yeah, +1
I've been thinking about this... maybe this option should have been added to the poll...
2 votes for wet/dry/wet then?

If you guys use this, what do you in case you have an effect that just needs 100% effect and no dry?
Plus has anyone tried this with 2 stereo cabs? Inside speakers for dry and outside speakers for stereo? Is that an option. I have to say stereo works for me on one cab, but 2 cabs certainly gives a wider sound. Not just because they a more apart, but mainly because they have a seperate soundchamber.

2 stereo cabs would certainly work...providing they can hold the power. Inside dry, outside wet as you suggest would probably be the best way.

Dont know about 100% wet FX...the way I used to do it, the dry amp/cab was specifically to keep huge effects from getting lost in the band mix. All-wet on the stereo pair is fine for some things, but massive delays and modulations takes all your cut away and the dry amp preserves this.

The way I used to do it: Marshall 6100 head dry into one 4x12, line out from that amp to a Korg A2 processor, stereo out from there to a dual 31-band graphic, to a Marshall 9200 power amp. 2 4x12's each channel  Dry amp plus one wet stack on my side of the stage, other stack with the bassist stage right.

Would love to try this again with my Triple, but the places we play anymore dont have large enough stages (or need that kind of power), and honestly I cant afford it at the moment. Given the opportunity, I think I would run the Trip dry into 2 4x12's, and the wet to a 2:90 and a pair of 2x12's or Theils on top of the dry cabs to keep the footprint smaller.
