Bottle rocket posted these on the Vintage forum:

Petrucci just updated his site and the gear section includes his exact settings for his two Mark IVs and his Lonestar. There's a ton of other stuff running through them, but it could be interesting for those looking for the Petrucci sound.

Pics are a little wide to post right in here.

I tried the Lone Star settings; both very good for me. The ch 1 settings was a little bright with my Parker; the ch 2. is the closet I've heard to Mark-ish type of lead sound.

Two interesting things;

1) the ch 1 setting is not super, super loud. Do you think this is because he's sending the Lone Star through a power amp? Because he's miked?

2) the ch 2 setting is noisier than I'm used to from the LSC. Not unbearable especially given how loud the setting is but still audible. Would somebody give it a try and see if that's their experience?

I used the Petrucci settings on my LSC last night on a gig . Channel 1 sounded amazing . I need to fine tune channel 2 a bit .

I have just noticed in looking at the pictures that his Mark Iv are set up with 2xEL 34 and 2x6L6

Is that a normal thing for a mark IV ?

Yes, and no mod required...one of the many options available on the Mark IV. Some prefer the 6L6/EL34 blend as it takes a bit of the high edge off the 6L6's while adding some girth and smoothness. It's claimed to combine the best qualities of each style tube while eliminating the shortcomings of each.

Can you do the same on a Lonestar Classic ?

I know LSC has a bias option for running either 6L6 or EL34, but I don't believe you can blend them simultaneously like in the Mark IV's Simul-class mode. Here's the Lonestar link:

The owner's manual on the Mesa site might provide more insight.
