So this is by no means a finished product so I hesitate to even post it but I'm looking for comments on this tone.

Mark IV Lead mode -> a touch of analog delay for presence and a 7 string tuned to GCGCGCE.

Here's a bit of a Devin Townsend Band song I tabbed out tonight because I was going for that style with the tone.

For some reason the guitar sounds out of tune in some places...it's probably the tuning. Any ways, I do enjoy the tone. I think the delay gives it a nice "open" feel. I also like the growl that comes when you let the low strings ring out.

Thanks for sharing :D

Cool tone and I love that song! Away is great but my favorite track on that album is Deadhead. Either way, cool!

Yeah I think that's the chorus you're hearing but also the tuning is quite low and I need a higher gauge string so it doesn't go out of tune when I hit the notes hard. I hate fighting with this guitar to get it to sound right but I haven't had the time to deal with it.

me too, I think deadhead is one of the coolest tunes I've ever heard.. I just never get tired of listening to it.

What guage strings were you using? For drop C I usually run a set of 12's. No experience with a 7 string. Loved the tone though. Could you PM me the settings so I can try it in the unlikely event I ever find a MArk IV to sit down and try. almost a 11 months now and I still haven't tried one! The most elusive production amp I've ever encountered.

There are 10s on it now hence the detuning issue, I used to run it in standard but haven't gotten around to fixing it up.

I'll PM you when I get home and look at the amp, if I forget send me a PM :)

that's the number of thread views, not the number of people who listen to the clip.

I realize that.. but it's also my server so I know how many people have clicked on it.
