New preamps

Thinking about getting the 6 x 12AX7 preamp tube kit along with an additional Penta Labs 12AX7 from Doug's Tubes. I play a lot of heavily distorted prog tech metal and a lot of clean jazz/fusion. Any other suggestions from people within the same sort of genres?

now that's quite a mix of styles!!!!! good staff :wink:

i personally think that doug's cocktail preamp tubes concept is going to be more of a standard in the future of amp manufacturers. certain preamp tubes work better in different locations(this would depend on what are you after, tone wise).

use doug's tubes as guideline and from there experiment.......
