New Mark III owner, got some questions...

I just picked up a red stripe short Mark III non simulclass head with no reverb and no eq. The inner tube sockets have a pair of Ruby 5881WXT+ and the outer sockets have a pair of Ruby 6L6GCMSTR. Is this a suitable combination or should I order a matched quartet from Mesa? Also, does anyone have a general idea how much it would cost to add reverb? Thanks alot in advance, this forum has a ton of info on it!

I doubt they are all drawing the same amount of bias. I would get a new matched quad. Your output section could be very imbalanced in the push pull power section. You can use Mesa tubes or any good GT in the 5 or 6 rating.

Thanks for the reply. I played it at stage volume today and it seemed a little muddy, maybe some new tubes will take care or this...

i wouldn't buy mesa tubes but...waste of money get a matched quad from jj's.. eurotubes.com
