So I had band practice today. I tried the "Metallica" GEQ thing (knob settings were close, but to personal taste).

Believe it or not it sounded really good!!!!

On its own it sound like you are playing through a tube, but in the band it really sounds big. The bass really has enough room to sit under the guitars giving the beef and yet really stand out. Cool stuff.

Didn't try to tackle the clean channel yet.
That's my exact eq curve on my Mark IV! The "Classic M" The only difference is my 750 slider is halfway between the bottom and middle line. Womps a$$ with a bass and drums playing along. Cranking the 240 slider really adds the beef.

Get those crap Sovtek tubes out of that amp.
It'll come alive WAY more than you may realize with better tubes!

Really? It'll come WAY more alive. It is already sounding really good?

What tubes should I get? I want to get the outer EL34's too.

The SED Winged =C= are the best new production tubes for the Simul C+ if you want to do the 6L6/EL-34 blend. Fix that extra resistor issue and connect pins 1 and 8 (on the outer pair of power tube sockets) before you run the EL-34's.

Don't worry, I have not forgot the extra resistor and the pin issue.
