Why does the reverb suck?! At least on the gain channels, that is. I have no problems with it on clean, but as soon as the amp goes blue or red, it terrorizes the sound! Now, I do recall something being written in the manual about why the reverb is affected by the gain channels when the volume is around 2 or higher, but isn't there some way around this?

It's all making me GAS for an Orange Rockerverb. Playing with gain and reverb on those amps seems to be no problem and yet, turning on reverb on the ED with gain makes it sound like vomit. What's with that? /rant over.

I disagree. I think the ED reverb is as nice a real reverb as I have ever played, but if you run the volume higher than 1 oclock, the reverb loses its sonic edge. At home I play with the reverb defeated in High Gain, and I really love the sound. I dont care for verb on high gain- but it is magic with low gain, soft clipping blues warmth....

But thats just me....

Well, I agree with you when it's low gain. As I was saying, it sounds fine on the clean channel - great, even - but with the settings on my amp as I use it for gigging (volume - 3, Treble - 2:30, Mid - 3:30, Bass - 11, Presence - 11, Master 8:00 or more depending on the stage/PA), it totally destroys the sound and feel of the two gain channels. Just wondering why it's not so on Orange amps, if anybody knows.

For me the reverb on the gain channel sounds great at hi volumes (hi master not the gain)

At bedroom volume, it does suck however.

Having played the Rockerverb many times, no way I trade an ED for it. It is a great amp, don't get me wrong, but it doesn't do it for me like the ED does.

For me the closest amp to the ED that I have heard is the Budda Superdrive, which ironically is a 1 channel with multiple modes as well.

I had a Rockerverb 50 and the reverb was crap. It wouldn't do the transition from clean to high gain very well. I wound up using it on clean and leaving it off on dirty.

Maybe they fixed it on the newer versions, but that was my experience with it.

When i played the Electra Dyne the reverb made the gain tones sound terrible. Like a wah kicked on in full treble position. But, just use a reverb pedal in the loop. Check out the Strymon Blue Sky Reverb, you'll never need another reverb pedal after that one.
