I recently had my DC-5 in for a service check up and, while the tech was looking things over, I had him resolder the resistor that I had snipped for the volume mod. The amp sounds like it used to again... touchy as hell, but I feel the earth move when I play!
We also replaced 4 preamp tubes... mine were hellishly microphonic. We left the PI and the reverb tube alone.
I got home and ran my DC through a Marshall 4x12 (a sealed 1960B with G12T75 and V30 in an X pattern) and she had windows rattling and dishes crashing to the floor!
