Hi folks.
I've got a couple of Boogie projects on the go at the moment. The main one being to have my mark 2B restored to original condition.
I just got an SOB combo(The chassis is signed by Randall C Smith no less :) becuase it had an MS-12 speaker which I wanted for my 2B.
My main question is when exactly did MESA start using the MS-12 speakers.
My 2B was born in 1981.Would the stock(non upgrade)speaker have been the MS-12?Were they using these speakers this early on?
Also the 2B is an export model and the PT has a non original fender replacement made by schumacher!
The SOB combo has the X62-162318(Also Schumacher)export PT.Would I be better putting this in my 2B which is going to be my main gigging amp.
Any input/advice again is much appreciated.

I think early on MESA during Mark I, II (I used to order their catalogs) they had a special design Eminence which is probably the MS-12 but it did not have the Black Shadow label yet. Itwas the standard speaker and upgrades optional speaker during the Mark I period were Altec and K-120 JBLs. Later the EVM-12L.

Well that's all I know.

So true. Early MS-12's had no label and the magnet looked slightly different - basically the hole in the center of the back of the magnet looks different.
