It's spring. I'm thinking it's real close to a year since I bought the Blue Angel from Hell, without a speaker, from a guy from the Fender Forum.

I've been kicked off the Fender Forum.......

I've gigged it for a year, it's a 2000, and was a bedroom amp with original tubes. It still has original tubes. I have spares from Mesa, well, except the NOS Mullard rectifier and the JAN's, 5751's, 7025's, ect.

I threw a Chinese V30 in it against my better judgement politically, but it sounds fine. I was used to working Celestions and didn't have time to experiment.

I play a 91' American Telecaster 3 burst, blackguard, and have been cruising the Telecaster forum....... Thinking about buying a new Tele this year because I gig, and HAVE to write off some thousands of dollars per year.

I've been kicked off the Telecaster discussion forum.

( you can't even mention smoking over there, read the rules, sheeze.)

Anyhow, as I now look at G&L's, and some other options on a T style guitar, I must say.........

This little 8 year old Boogie, (I ordered a Boogie badge for her) rides around in her road case and clobbers every amp she see's. Never had a problem, sounds like heaven and I play classic rock, blues, and a ton of Country and Motown stuff. She works almost evey weekend, sometimes lives in the truck (backseat) all week and never gets unloaded.

Below freezing...... (in the winter)

120 degrees in the summer, (in the locked truck).

Zero problems.

Mesa builds the toughest amps I've ever gigged. This one has had a real rough life in the past year, and is booked for the rest of this year.

I'm sold......

Murph.

Murph I hate to tell you this...but I just sent a note requesting you to be kicked off this forum

Just kidding glad your happy with your amp! Good to hear about the diverse conditions it exists and continues to perform.

I agree! My LSC has gone through more than I will print and, and every time I get it back it sounds better!

yeah mesa builds them tough..... especially the cabs.... my buddy barely breathed on his marshall once and the tolex and grille both had rips in it.... BTW what did you do to get kicked off two forums??

I once had some rectifiers survive a high speed car crash in which my car flipped 6 times. And they were used to record the next day. Now that's tough!

Murph... you just posted a couple times at the TDPRI yesterday. When did you get canned and what for?

    I got kicked off the Fender Forum too. Somebody asked me if they could buy an old Bogen PA from me. I said ok. That was it. I had just become a ****-tributing member the week before and Chris Greene wanted another $30. He got downright rude about it, so I figure I'm better off without him.

I've been kicked out of better places.

Mesa and Soldano have got to be the sturdiest amps I've ever owned. I don't really gig anymore, but when I start again (this should read: after all the diaper changing is done  ), you can better believe it will be with a Mesa.

I found a used Blue Angel in a GC about 9 months ago, for a pretty reasonable price for GC, actually. I tried it out and loved the sound, but I didn't have the cash for it, and didn't want to put it on my credit card. In retrospect, it was one of the stupider decisions I've ever made.

Yeah - my '91 Mark IVa was a trooper. I could record all day and never have one problem with it. Mesas are built to last a LOOOOONG time. My new Rect-o-Verb combo will last longer than I will ever want to keep it, but I have no doubt I could give it to my freakin' great grandkid one day and it would still sound killer (after a retube that is)! Now THAT'S a smart investment...

I actually thought twice about including that comment because of my 'gear pimping' history (good terminology!). I'm trying my damnedest to find something I don't like about the RoV combo and i'm just not finding anything :D I really think this one is a keeper! It's under warranty until 2012, the cleans are great, and the distortion is SIIIICK. It loves my pedals and has enough bass to rattle the walls - and best of all - the price doesn't make me feel guilty!

And to keep on topic - The RoV is built better than any other Mesa I've seen. The cab itself is made out of 1" birch! The back piece is 3/4" birch IIRC...

Whoops.

My bad.

A computer glitch wouldn't let me log in to the tdpri right after a post about miss Crowe that caused the whole thread to disappear.

Guess it wasn't my post after all!

Murph.

Glad to hear you're enjoying your Boogie :)

I picked up a G&L semi-hollow T-stlye a couple of months ago. I originally bought it as a backup guitar...but I play it a LOT now. In fact, I rarely ever take my PRS out of it's case these days. The G&L has an incredible neck, and the pickups are very sweet sounding.
