I'm curious, do they test out every piece of equipment before they give it the okay? I know car manufacturers run the cars for like 15 minutes once they come off of the line but I'm not sure if amp manufacturers do the same so i'm curious...

I've heard that they run every amp for 24 hours prior to final approval. I know the inspection tag on mine has multiple signatures that are hand written (not stamped). I have every confidence that they tested the living crap out of this thing before it shipped to me 8)

Yeah, as stated above, I'd say that they are given a good go-over before final packaging. The sigs on both my head and cab seem to indicate quite a few people took a look at it before it went out the door. But, then again, i have the tag for my Fender Mexican Strat, and it's got multiple sigs on it too, along with some stamps. It's just nice to know people are at least taking the time to look at it to see if anything's wrong. Both instruments have worked great since the day I bought them, except for the 5-way switch on my Fender is starting to go south..may just be loose connections...but then again it's 10 years old....so.....no biggie.

It's also interesting to note that none of these dual rec's have chrome chassis.... 8) and they don't appear to be roadsters (with the non-chromable aluminum chassis)

Joey it must hurt to see your cabs sitting there. What a coincidence.

Not really, I'm just glad that they are that close to complete. What hurts is to wrap up a badass sounding amp in a blanket and wait for the shell to arrive. And oh yeah, I said HARD and then WOOD! "Excuse me while I whip this out."

They had two test rooms there and they were also running a sampler through the amp to test it out at some point as well... so I'm pretty sure it gets tested out at three different points in the process.

Seriously?!?

How crazy is that? Well... now you have a picture of it getting made in the factory.

hey user:charlie, how did you get this tour?, im going to sonoma for a couple of weeks next year, it would kick some major *** to do a factory tour while i was there

Just email them and let them know you would like to stop by for the tour.
Charlie, is there a wait or do they have open tour to the public every week/day? It'd be cool to do a visit when I'm over there in short notice.

When I emailed them they just told me to 'come on by anytime' between Monday and *Thursday*. I'd email them or call them anyway though just to make sure. I think their email is infoATmesaboogie.com

I took a tour a while back as well. I wanted to try out a Mk 1 reissue, and I called up the front desk and talked to Debbie about setting up an appointment, and she put me in touch with Kris Dilbeck, and he set up an appointment for me to come try out the amp and get a tour.

This was a couple years ago, so this may have changed, but there was a guy in the middle of the wood/shipping room in a plastic enclosure playing through amps as they came off the line. They also had a walk-in freezer (not turned on) where they did some playing sometimes as well. The guy's whole job involved playing guitar all day, I thought it was pretty sweet.

It is also true that they run an amp for 24 hours to test it, as well as a bunch of other tests on the tubes.

It is quite impressive to see the amount of amps they have there, and how few people were in the place to make them.
