just a quick question (Maybe an obvious one). I use a Marshall 4x12 1960A with my Dual recto head and Mark IV. I have a chance to change it with a Recto 4x12 (not the Stilleto one). I've heard that Standard rectos are a lil bit flubby compared to stilletos (or vintage rectos). Do you think it's a good decision? Waiting for your ideas
And no I can't A/B them. here in iran finding a mesa by itself is a long story... just for your info
thanks

The Mesa cab is built better in pretty much every possible way. :)

Ultimately whether you like the sound more is subjective, but I would go with the Mesa cab over the 1960.

Mesa cuz it says mesa on it!!!! I like vintage 30"s better than 75's that come in the marshall cab.

Definately the Mesa!

I had a 1960AV (with V30 speakers) and made the swich to the Rectifier slant 412. Although the mesa is bigger, it's tighter in the lows because of its better construction. It can be a bit boomy though, but just turn your low(mid)s down a bit and you're fine. My 1960AV was flubby in the lows, the mesa is not.

It was worth the extra costs (they're hard to find/expensive in Europe too, can't even think about how it's in de ME).

I traded my 1960a cab for a Mesa 4x12 and I'm really liking the tone I'm getting now. The mesa cab is really nice, better casters and metal handles. Only downside is that I've had to re-EQ my amp.
