Guys,
being that I have a friend who works excellent in the electronic field, I asked him if we can build a home made MESA MarkIIC+ and I'm looking for the schematics for that one. Then I'll try to improve where possible talking with Brunetti and Masotti in Italy.
Please help me out :D

it may be tough to do that. one of the biggest factors in the tone of the amp was the 105 transformer which isn't being made anymore. but keep us posted on any progress.

like phantomlord2oo sez, it'll be tough without access to a comparable transformer. Particularly if you want to do Simulclass, which seems to be a big plus in the IIC+ world.

Some barely legible schematics can be found at http://www.schematicheaven.com/index_FLASH.htm

direct link for the Mark IIc is:

For amp building resource links go to the AX84 site: http://www.ax84.com/ (if you've never built a tube amp before you might want to try one of those first, since all the design data, and parts are available).

Have fun, send clips.

Randal Smith (Mesa) has been extremely protective of their intellectual property rights. He has a whole slew of lawyers waiting to sue anybody making anything that even smells like a Boogie. He has gone through the trouble and expense to do it right, patenting his circuits and hiding his schematics and copy writing them so that it is illegal even to reprint them without permission. I can't say I blame him. Other amp designers haven't done this and their amps are routinely copied. Whether you agree with it or not the law is on his side so I would tread very lightly where Mesa is concerned.

Do you mean I shouldn't try to build an amp similar to the Mesa because of the law? I'm not gonna mass produce it...I don't think it's illegal...
More on this? I'd like to be aware of everything before starting :D
Thanks for the head-up, though

Patents prevent you from profiting from another person's/company's invention. They do not prevent you from building one of your own to see how the invention works, just don't sell it if the patent is still in force. The public disclosure requirement of patents is supposed to foster innovation in this way.

Patents before 1995 have a term of 17 years from application, after 1995 its 20 years (it was changed to comply with NAFTA/WTO agreements).

The Mark IIC and Simulclass is a 1985 patent so your safe there, expired in 2002ish.

If your version turns out to be really swell you should be able to sell it, I'd come up with a new name though, trademarks are perpetual if they continue to be protected by the owner.
