Dave,
the way I'm going with this just now I'LL still be here years from now asking questions ;)
Need to stop procrastinating and get this IIB to a tech.
Regarding the SOB combo.I grabbed it for the MS-12 and because this IIB is blowing fuses ,I wanted to have a replacement PT just in case! It's a 70's Fender export replacement PT in there just now.
It was powering up fine when I got it but I put in a couple of the old original 6L6 tubes and one of them shorted(at least I think that's what happened)anyway the amp blew a fuse and now even with no power tubes in,it still blows fuses.
I'm hoping it could be the original filter caps or even the screen grid resistors that's causing fuses to blow though. At least IF it is the PT I have an original replacement on hand.
Cheers mate.

Hi folks.I've just "inherited" a MK 2B.It's been in it's flight case for years. It's not sounding too great. There is also a low buzzing sound whenever a note is played.Sometimes it's an octave lower of the same note,or a note in between creating a chord? It's not tube related and it's present at very low volumes too! There is no buzzing or anything coming from the amp itself when no guitar is plugged in!
I know there has been some work done to this amp over the years and it is my mission to get it returned to it's stock/ former glory.I would really appreciate if anyone could take a look at the gut shots and see if there is anything that jumps out that would need fixed/replacing?Ie bad caps etc?I would also really appreciate if anyone can point out anything at all that has been changed?
Any help is much appreciated.
Thank you.

It might be a good idea to recap it, when the caps get old and dry out, you will start having issues :)
