I've seen them referred to as "Big Brothers" but maybe that is just a certain model? Basically it's a wide/colosseum width chassis in a combo with a 15" speaker instead of a 12". Does anyone own one? Any hardwood 15" combos? I've searched around and found a few online. There are even a few old threads here but most of the photos have expired. I'm generally one to look for deals, but would probably pay a fair price for a hardwood 15" if anyone is looking to thin the herd. :) Short of that would just love some eye candy. They seem to be pretty rare.

I have a Mk. I 1x15 with black Tolex. The serial number Dymo was missing when I bought it. Never really bothered to find out what year it was built, but the address on the silver Mesa sticker was a PO box number.

I think the "Big Brother" term refers to all 1x15 models.

I have a thing for the 15" combos, I have three of them!

I am the current owner of that Koa 2A that you linked to. It has since been gone over by Mesa and it is very clean and stock. It has a 15" EV.
I have another 15" 2A in black that is a killer amp, just something about it, it is a beast.
And I have a 15" 2B that has been recently modded by Mesa. I'm just starting to explore this one.

I have two early MkIIs, both of which are regular black, and which were used on major tours by the previous owner. Both have reverb, while one has the graphic and the other doesn't.

I think they're great, but I now have so many Mk amps that they don't get used so much.

That is a crazy amount of gear, Wyzard! I am jealous, not only of the gear, but the space to store it all!

I've seen a black tolex 15" combo for sale locally recently but they are asking a lot of money. Still holding out for a hardwood big brother in the future with eBay and Reverb alerts setup in pounce mode.

Most of the 15" combos I've seen were Mk-IIA's
But as we see in this thread they were not limited to IIA's some Mk-I's and IIB's are out there as well.
I've never heard of or seen Mk-III 15" combo.

This looks like a hardwood Mark III 15" combo:

I sure would like one of those!

Oh my word, me too.... I have a normal hardwood MkIII (which my wife doesn't mind, because it looks like furniture) in the breakfast room.

Never underestimate the appeal of wife-friendly gear.

Totally. My Imbuya Mark III is in the living room for the same reason - my wife thinks it's pretty.

My first Mesa was a Imbuia Mark IV. My wife didn't mind it in the living room, but once my kids got to a certain age it didn't make any sense to leave the amps at ground level. I'm just starting to trust my five year old (not his friends), but now I've got a nine month old just learning how to get around and I don't want to come home to smashed wicker/speaker or a cab covered in marker/crayon.

There is a nice flame maple Mark IV available locally that I am so temped to pick up. It's a wide body though and I am not sure I could squeeze it into my little amp cubby.

The images are all missing, but here's a reference to a IIC+ 300/Coliseum 15" Combo:

How rare must that be?!

Yeah that's Ian's old website.
Totally forgot about his list of 15" combos.

I actually have his site and all files on my computer. One of these days he and/ or I will get it back up on the internet

That's cool! Let me know if you want any help getting it up there. We could have it running on a little AWS S3 website in a few minutes. I reference the old pages on that site quite a bit using the wayback machine. I'm always bummed all the images are missing.

Finally found a hardwood 15" for sale but it is a lot more than I can afford.

I got a tolex and wicker 15" today. It's an early Mark III. I plugged it in a bit before I went into to work this morning and liked it a lot. I didn't get a chance to mess with everything but there's something super smooth about this amp that I really enjoy. I've got my eye on a later hardwood Mark III 15" as well, but it might be a while before I can pull the trigger. Too many amps at the moment, need to thin the heard a bit before I can pick up anything else.

Digging this thing a lot, but strongly considering switching the medium chassis Mark III into my walnut medium headshell and moving the 15" cab so I can try and get the hardwood one instead... :) :) :)
