I have played this new LSS a couple times in my local store (in UK) and really really love it (with Gibson LP Junior). I 'm going to buy one this week. But ... the last time I played it in store the fuse blew and the assistant replaced it saying it was a tube problem but nothing to worry about! (I've read loads of stuff about this on the forum).

THE QUESTION IS.... does anyone use a LSS and NOT have any problems with it. I wonder how common the tube/fuse blowing issue is, cos I want to buy an amp that will be reliable (well pretty reliable) from day one with no back to service-centre mods needed.

Just joined the forum so be gentle with me - please.

Many thanks

David UK

I have gigged mine relentlessly for 1 1/2 years. I haven't had any trouble except an initial 5Y3 tube going bad. After replacement, there have been NO problems... just miles and miles of killer tone. Believe me when i say that i push my amp hard and if there were serious issues, i would know about it. This amp is on the road... and it shines.

Geez, that could have happened with any kind of amp. Maybe you like to worry too much....

If this was an ongoing problem with these amps they'd never be as popular as they are.

Only had mine for a couple months and used in some jams (no gigs) but absolutely no problems.

I have number 43. I have had it since it arrived almost 3 years ago. may gigs later, no issues. Well if you count swapping the crappy Mesa tubes with some NOS tubes an issue. Tone is killer, and I love my amp.

So I went for it!

Picked up a new LSS yesterday - WOW. Thanks for all the advice - now off to annoy neighbours again.
