Hi,

I mentioned this in another thread.

I found a guy selling a Roadking 212 combo amp.

He says it's four years old.

He asking 1200$.

I had really been saving up for the Roadster.

Searching this forum I found a thread where some had suggested the Roadster was actually better, though the Mesa site states the Roadster is the same amp as the Roadking minus progressive linkage and I think a few other bells and whistles.

Now I still need to check the amp out myself, but assuming everything he says is true what do you guys think?

Thanks

I pulled the trigger on this one. I got it for 1000$.

I went to go see it.

Cosmetically it had some issues.

The handle on top was wore out and had some duck tape on it.

The tolex on the back along the top has a scrape and has some wholes in it (can't see it from the front).

The wheels on the casters where worn.

Clearly this amp had traveled and been gigged with frequently.

The rest of the tolex is fine.

The grill looked new

Both front and back panels looked new.

It sounds amazing.

We cranked it and I am telling you this thing was a beast.

I have arrived!

My Carvin MTS 3200 head and 212 cabinet (a great amp by the way) will be on Craigslist shortly!

OH man, $1000 is a killer deal. I would've jumped on that, glad someone did though.

Enjoy the amp man, and as always share some pics or a small review :p.

Cheers.

Sorry for the bad picks.

I only have my phone camera at the moment.

As I said, cosmetically it has some issues.

But this thing sounds great!

In the end I got it for 1000.

I would like to get the tolex repaired, but it is not vital.

Looks pretty beaten up but as long as all the functions work...I couldn't care less. I'd kill to own one of those for $1000. Lucky basterd.

That's a great price. The only thing I would do is call Mesa and order a new handle. Not a big deal at all.
