How hot should the transformer get?

Hey guys, I've got a Nomad 55 that I boost the front end with a modded Rat pedal. My gain and volume on the pedal aren't too high, only about 1/4 of the dial. I run the amp gain at about 2 o'clock sometimes for that over the top Eddie VH type sound. I love the sound of it but am concerned about frying the tubes or transformer. It gets pretty hot inside there. Would running a fan help?

I wouldn't go about touching your tranny. They get pretty hot at times. I remember people joking about cooking on their trannies back in the day.

No, just a little of the Rat gain blended in with the amplifiers gain. Thanks for the help guys. This is a great board .
