Hey all I am about to buy a Triaxis but found out it was originally a V1 that has been upgraded to V2 allegedly non phat.

Am I correct in assuming all V1's did not come with the Recto Lead 1 red?

Is the V2 upgrade bundled with the Recto board or is it just an option? In other words, if Mesa did the upgrade to V2 would they include the recto board? How can I tell if the lead 1 red board is V1 stock or V2 recto non phat?

If all V1's came with the recto vintage orange channel as the Lead 1 red then i don't have anything to worry about because it is what I want.

thanks!

I did some digging and found that the V1's did not come with the recto board and were similar to what is being produced by Mesa today. The owner does not know whether his unit received the recto upgrade and pretty much told me to find out myself by calling Mesa. So, it looks like I am going to look for another TA that was a V2 from the factory so I can be sure I am getting the Recto lead 1 red.

So, are you dumping your old one?

I have an original, VERY early V1 (serial# is only 00078). I was told by Mesa that it was so early, that it was not able to be upgraded to version two. Apparently, the next batch to come along had the resources available to be upgraded...

Anyway, I'm still wanting a good used, Version 2 though.

The seller did not know what he had so I decided not to buy it from him. I bought a V2 non phat off of Ebay though. This is my first Triaxis and my first time owning a Boogie preamp.

I bet you will have a hard time selling that old V1 if you can't upgrade it to V2. CC is a huge plus as well as the having the Recto Board for Lead 1 Red. Good luck in selling it.
