What up?....I just quasi-finished up a song last night, the first one Ive done with actual mic'd guitars and they were all done through my Mark V! I used all 3 channels in there at various different points and 2 different guitars; A PRS Mushok Baritone and a Fender Jazzmaster. As I said this was my first endeavor into real, mic'd guitars. I come from the land of modeling and re-amping. Mostly because I never had an amp really worth the time and effort it takes to record it analog! But, I definitely like the results I got. Anyway, check it out if you have a few mintes and leave me some feedback. Its still kind of a work in progress as far as mastering and stuff goes....

I like the tone and the song (is it an original tune?) and I like the recording/mixing, very clear and right-space for each instrument. Keep it coming :)

Yep, its an original. Thanks, I appreciate it! I was trying to pay extra attention to getting everything to sit well in it's own space.

Nice Job! It sounds very good to me overall. The only part that didn't grab me much was the "instrumental section" with effects, but that is just me. The guitar parts sound great as well as the vocals and is a nice mix!!

Thanks! Ya, i think I need to add a little sopmething to that middle part. Just not sue what yet.

Hey very good song man. Very well constructed. I'm a critic so here goes.... Maybe add a little more depth to the guitars, maybe a little more low end. Or maybe it could just be the Soundclouds internet sound. But I did listen in my studio through pro monitors and it still sounded really good man. Very good song, and all instruments were well balanced. Overall great job if this is your first time recording mic'd amps.

Thanks again! Ya, this is definitley my first foray into mic'd guitars. I really like the sound I got as compared to the "fizziness" I tended to get with amp models. The one thing I always seem to have a tough time with is the overal EQ of my mixes. I attribute that mostly to what Equipment I use for monitoring. (M-Audio AV30 Monitors, with a separate subwoofer hooked up and a good pair of AKG studio headphones). The monitors just dont put good enough bass for quality referancing in my opinion so I have to suplement it with the subwooker and just judge the levels of the low EQ based on that. Mixing using headphones has its own issues especially when the headphones I'm using are way better sojundiong than what most people are probably listening through. I jsut try to mix to where I like how it sounds on my system and then referance it on as many systems as i can around the house (surround sound system, tabletop stereo, car stereo, etc.) I am running a HPF on most if not all of the guitars so I could probably mess around with that a bit. I just get nervous that im adding too much low end becasue of the limitations of my monitors.

for me personally i thought the guitar tones were great and I would not add anymore low end at all.

the only things I heard that I wasnt really crazy about was that overall the drums were a little "muffled" sounding especially with the snare and i wasnt a big fan of the flanger on the guitar during the musical section.....the flanger is ok but with less mix of the effect in there.
