Wait, how could you not use it though? I though the fix was to just never turn off reverb on the footswitch and turn it down on the channels you don't want it on via the individual knobs on the back; why wouldn't it work if you dialed some in? (personally, though, I hate reverb on anything high-gain, dry for rhythm and just delay for solos here!)

I finally had a chance to experiment with leaving the reverb button on/engaged, and didn't notice any difference in the channel switching speed. It was just a split second delay with or without the reverb button pressed in.

Bummer, I was sort of excited to see if there was any change, since my personal opinion about Mesa's onboard spring reverb is that it's merely an afterthought in the Rectifier line and not very well done. I actually prefer digital reverb/delay in the loop much better. So I wouldn't have had to give up anything by keeping the reverb engaged in my situation, lol.

My thoughts exactly. I run a little bit of reverb on my channel 3(which is set to raw and 50 watts... so the verb adds a little size to it). I don't use any on 4, but I certainly could if I wanted to.

Nitro... why do you think you can't use the reverb on 3 and 4?

That is odd. I think you are the first person that the fix doesn't work for. The difference is night and day for me. I actually disengaged the verb button last night to see if the lag would return and sure enough, it did. Maybe you actually need to have some reverb dialed in on at least one channel for the lag to go away? That is the only thing I can think of. I noticed that you use a digital reverb so I assume you have all your reverb knobs dialed out.

Well I dunno, at least he's saying he didn't have the problem before ("split-second delay") so there really wasn't anything to fix, so don't lose hope just yet!

What I mean is, it's no longer footswitchable. In order to avoid the lag, I have to have the reverb switch 'on' but keep the reverb knob dialed to '0'. Doesn't bother me at all because I never use reverb on high gain stuff...but it seems lame that the only way around the switching lag requires you to not be able to footswitch reverb on or off in you wanted to.

Otherwise you have to have the reverb set where you want it and then before you can actually switch channels you have to muddy your guitar sound by clicking the reverb on, and then make the switch. So either way, you either have a lag in switching, or a goofy sound before you make the switch. Plus considering a lot of Roadster users use and OD as well, you'd have to 1) click on your reverb 2) click off the OD 3) switch channels.

Like I said it doesn't even remotely bother me because I only use reverb on clean stuff, but if you do like the option of having verb on your dirty channels...you're tap dancing.

AH, that is a **** good point - glad it doesn't bother me for the aforementioned reasons, but that sucks that the always-on verb fix still isn't necessarily a 100% adequate one for some people!

I agree 100% with Nitro. Even though it seems to fix the lag, there is absolutely no excuse for Mesa letting this problem occur in the Roadster. Maybe, Mesa released the amp before thoroughly checking its quality. I would still expect an official answer from Mesa in order to clarify this.

Nevertheless, I cannot sell my Roadster as I 'm in love with its tone and versatility (Diezel VH4 would be a close one).
