Hey all,

I bought a new condition Mark V combo online. Apparently, the guy's had it for close to a year, and not used it. And the photos do look good.

Before I hand over the cash, I''ll be giving it a test drive (as they wouldn't let me do so before the end of the auction).

When the Mark V's first came out, I remember some posts of people complaining about certain issues with the amp.

Two issues that I remember are:

* The silk screening coming off the front control panel face plate (finger removable decals for the control knobs - apparently, the silk screening was rubbing off with just light finger pressure on the printing) and,

* Popping sounds when changing channels (I believe this occurs when switching to and from channels with different power modes, i.e. 10 watts to 45 or 90 watts, is this correct?).

If there are any popping issues that occur besides this reason, please let me know!

Was the silk-screening issue taken care of by either Boogie/distributor/dealer, by having the face plates replaced and fitted?

If there are any other issues known to these early serial Mark Vs, please inform me on what to look out for!

This Mark V has an early serial of 27*. Which serials were affected by these issue/s?

In Australia, we only get a 1 year warranty with Boogie products. This thing only has 2-3 months left of that warranty, and I'm not sure if it's even tranferrable!

I searched for the old posts (as the ones below), but it's been a while and I needed more conclusive info. I'm sorry if this issue's already been covered!

I'd appreciate any info any of you's can offer!

Thanks in advance!

The Mark V pops if you switch from 10w to any other setting. It's covered in the manual and there's nothing to be done about it.

I have sn 300 and I haven't had any issues with the silk screening.

I have SN#0042, only issue I have is I can't stop playing through it due to it's high level of awesomeness! Seriously, no issues at all!

The warranty is transferrable . You will need the owner or yourself to contact Boogie with the following info : Where and the date it was purchased, The original owners name and your name and address and date you acquired it , serial number .

S/N: 00098 here - no issues of any kind.

Definitely have the warranty transferred. If you're having issues I'm sure Mesa will address them.
