hi

sold mu Mesa dual recto pre500 and I ve regretted it
Now Ive got the opportunity to buy a Rev F (07xx)
what differences is that between the rev D and rev F
Ill only use it to metal and hard music

The main difference you will notice is the Rev. F will have MUCH improved cleans. Other than that, it will be extremely similar to your old amp.

ok that s just what I thought.
I just love that tone and hopefully Ill keep it this time(If I buying it)

The Rev F is an awesome head. I have one.

I'll vouch for the Orange channel. It does some awesome crunch tones and is warmer and more elastic than the red channel.

In my experiance, the Fs are the smoothest of the rectos and have a touch less upper mids than the D. My favoite Solo head was my old F.

got it..sounds like my ex REV D but A tad tighter perhaps. Ill compare them both .....
so far Im happy......rectos rule  .

no I didnt. is it something wrong with that one or??? i don t understadn what you mean
I bought this one in Sweden where I live. And is surely in good condition. Have nt done a real test yet but so far ...superbrutal tonemachine
this IS a keeper
A rev F serialnr 0797 and with the markIII tranny

Sorry on another thread it was discussed how $1700 in the U.S. is an absurd and unrealistic price to pay for a Rev. F Recto. That's all. :)

hehehe ok ok. In Sweden that is an ok price though. tough but that how it is

In Sweden you ve to be glad to find it for 2000dollar. usually a 3 channel recto goes for 2-2500 dollars here( used)

This sort of answers the question I had, I run all my pre-500 rectos on the orange channel for high gain, it kicks the red channels butt!
My question is...at what board rev. did they change the tone of the orange channel when it is ran on "veriable high gain" & "vintage to modern"?
Sounds like "rev F" ran on the orange channel (for high gain) has about the same tone as my rev C and rev D pre-500's
I know the later "Large Logo" two ch DR's would not work the same on the orange channel as the earlier "small logo" two ch DR's.

Ill try this channel next time with a band for solos. much warmer and elastic yes byt I think the red channel is a good rythm riff channel. I really like the sterile hard metal tones that it brings.
