Hi guys, I haven't posted much yet as I spend most of my time on Rig-Talk. Just thought I'd pop in and share some clips of my rectifier that Dave Friedman recently modded. It's the first one which I think is pretty cool!

I told him I wanted the amp to be a bit sweeter and more defined with a tighter bottom end. He voiced the mod around the vintage mode on the gain channels, and they sound amazing now!!! With that said, the modern mode is basically unusable now. It can still be used, but it sounds pretty ice-picky and bright. I never used it much anyway. Always thought it was too harsh unless the amp was almost wide open.

The raw gain modes are warmer and more usable now, and the clean channel is also improved. The main thing with Dave's work is that he retains the amp's character and doesn't neuter it. Still sounds like a recto, but with improved feel, clarity and response and a great woody chunk that I always wished it had! Eventually I'll get some real clips recorded, but for now check out a few videos. They don't really do it justice but you get a sense of what it's like in the room, sort of.

Weird. I always found the modern mode to be best for rhythm while the vintage was more suitable for lead. Judging by your vids though, you are much more into that classic rock tone. Sounds rad, btw.
