Avatar cab vs. rec cab.

If I go with a Mark V would an Avatar 2x12 closed back cab stack up against a 2x12 rec cab?

I've got an Avatar 'cube' 1x12" closed back cab with a Celestion 80 in it - it sounds great with the Mark V, but I don't have a Recto cab to compare it with... solid and punchy though... Not as well built as a Mesa cab, I'd warrant, but a good cab, especially for the $$$...
