Okay so I ordered new tubes and here's what I ended up with:
SED Winged C's in the Power section - combination of EL34/6L6
V1 - TAD 12AX7 (balanced/matched)
V2 - Tung Sol Re-issue 12AX7
V3 - JJ ECC83S/12AX7 Gold Pin (balanced/matched)
V4 - Tung Sol Re-issue 12AX7
V5 - Electro Harmonix (balanced/matched)
I had the Tung Sol's already and they seemed fresh enough so I kept them in. This is the first combination of valve placement I have tried and I love it! I did swap the power tubes first while keeping my same old pre-amps (5 Tung Sol Re-issue's) and I immediately heard that the SED's were not as bright, sounded smoother almost how my amp sounded when it had the bright reduction mod (which I have since de-modded, my amp is now stock). If that even holds true to their characteristic, I dunno, but that's what my hears heard lol
I feel I can also achieve a better tone at lower volumes, but with the Lead Master & Master 1 both at 3 this amp sings! But loud!!!
I am also interested in trying any other combination's with the tubes I have, which I may do.
Thought I'd share!
