I recently decided to order some Avatar Vintage 4x12s.
I have two Tremoverbs and want each combo to have it's own 4x12 cabinet.
Here is my question.
What speakers do you recommend for a punchy, full, tight, percussive, articulate low end with shimmering, bell like, piano, creamy, thick mids and highs that are clean and musically articulate?
My Tremoverbs have V30s in them now. I guess these were selected by Mesa when they designed the amp.
The 4x12 will be almost a perfect copy of the Marshall 1960B cabinet for sale by Marshall now.
I get to choose from a wide selection of speakers, but am not entirely sold on just V30s.
I thought a mix of V30s with G12H or something would work well.
I have only the Youtube videos to judge from, as there is no place to audition any of this in person.
So please give my your opinions with your reasoning.
I like the tone of Greg Howe, Nuno Bettencourt and Steve Vai.
I do NOT play metal.
I play prog/rock classic rock and somewhat heavy rock, and I am a hack, that is to say that I am not a professional.
