So when I installed the Mesa 4x12 straight angled recto cab with C90's the back was rattling like crazy.. then I glued the baffle foam rubber pad on the back of the baffle (I swapped speakers from another cab) and the rattling went away. The cabs with Vintage 30's have these small horizontal strips... now if I were to get the baffling pad that came with the C90's and put that into the cab with the V30's... would that change the sound of that 4x12?

And where would I get that stuff? Could you use any foam rubber or is it a vital component?

Are you talking about the brace that rattles against the back of the cab?

If so I just stick a screw through the back of the cab and into the end of the brace itself.

Never understood why Mesa doesn't do that at the factory.

Well ... I supposed that would work too but I like the idea of a buffered baffle..

The C90's had a lot of vibration and I had to unscrew the back and glue what in my mind is a pad to the end of the baffle.

once I did that the rattle was gone and I had that nice Celestion sound I used to get with my Marshall 1960 A slants.
