    Express 5:25 1x12 vs. 5:50 1x12

I also liked the sound of the 5:25 1x12 better than the 5:50 1x12.

    LONESTAR DIED onstage

I wouldn't be very happy about that kind of thing happening after only 4 months of use. In fact, I'd be rather pissed.

    FS: Mark IV Combo

Washing the paint off would be the first thing I do if I was to purchase that amp.

    5.25 Express - 10 inch? or 12 inch? Whaaaaaat?

I played on the new 1x12 a couple weeks ago and it kicks a$$. Noticeable improvement over the 10" version. http://www.mesaboogie.com/Product_Info/Express/Express.htm[/url]

    Express 5:25

You didn't give it ample testing in the store with your own gear before you bought it? That kind of thing is mandatory IMHO.

Lone Star Special or 5:25? help me know the differences

The express 5:50 is both clean and versatile. Adjusting the contour control will get you close to lonestar cleans. Great with pedals too! I'd give the 5:50 a whirl with your own gear - pedals included and hear the difference.

who owns a mesa express amp?

I have the 5:50. I've tried the 5:25 1x10 and recently noodled on the new 5:25 1x12. The 1x12 definitely opens up the sound and I would certainly recommend it over the 10" version.

Is there a boutique amp that sounds better than the LSC

By "boutique amp" you mean what exactly?

Lone Star Special or 5:25? help me know the differences

If you are considering the Express 5:25 definitely get the newer model with the 12" speaker. I tried this new one out last Saturday and the larger speaker is definitely a big improvement over the 10" speaker. Had the 5:25 with the 12" been available when I bought my 5:50 a couple months back...

anyone have a chance to play a new 5:25 1x12" combo yet

Typically, the cab size increases along with the speaker size. Anyway, I will find out in person when I give the new 5:25 12" a whirl Saturday afternoon.

anyone have a chance to play a new 5:25 1x12" combo yet

My local guitar store just got the new 5:25 with the 12" speaker. I'm going to go by there tomorrow and noodle on it for a while to see how the 12" speaker sounds compared to the 10".

    New Mesa amp rumor!!

I have a feeling the OP won't tell you who he spoke to as I think we're being put on.

    Express 5:50. More opinions wanted.

LOL. The Express 5:50 is by no means "boxy".

Express 5:25 - To buy or not to buy

Some say the 5:25 sounds boxy due to the 10" speaker. Others say it's fine. The only opinion that matters is yours. I recommend you take your guitar to the nearest guitar store that carries one and try it out yourself. If you want the EL84 tone but are concerned about it being boxy there is...

    LSS or Express 5:50

Too heavy to gig with? People gig with gear a heck of a lot heavier than that. Simply move it from your vehicle to the venue, and return it back to your vehicle when you are done. It's not that heavy dude. If your ear likes the sound and your wallet can live with the price, then buy it.

    Express 5-50 weird problem

Exact same problem I'm experiencing with a 5:25 I purchased a couple weeks back. I'm not impressed with the quality control of these amps.

What is the best 2x12" for the money?

    Nice attitude... prick.
