Buzzing/Rattling sound out of the Mesa cabinet

I had this problem with a brand new Mesa 4x12. I took it back, and they told me the baffle was loose. They fixed the problem in a very short time. 10 years later, and it's still a champ!

    Rack processor or stomps? (Triaxis)

Both......I keep my rack gear stuff in parallel to avoid the ad/da conversion, and try to use mostly analog pedals. All within a switcher. In my opinion, flangers, phasers, and compression sound better in pedals. To use these with the G-Major you have to be in series, therefore going the...

    Metallica Black Album Tone w/Triaxis

Very nice! Any Eqing, or just plain old Triaxis sweetness?

Triaxis difficulties (low gain, too much bass)

Plug your guitar straight into the 2:90, change the back from Line to Instrument. See how it sounds.

how to acheive a smoother distortion??

Is this the tone you're looking for? Skip ahead to about 2:53ish http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qGvdh9P419A

    That's it. Deep mode's off.

Would there be exceptions when recording spots in a song where it is just guitar? Have a monstrous guitar sound, but then when the rest of the band enters, use some automation on EQ's, no deep engaged, etc...?

2:90 tube life and voicing switches

I put a sticker(label) on my 2:90 dating when I last retubed it. It reads 7/9/07. So, these tubes are now 4 years old, and have a nice layer of dust sitting on them. This amp has been through a lot of practices, shows, and miles of bumping roads. They still seem fine to me....Deep, Modern...

Low gain lead 2 modes on triaxis

    Post your actual settings....

Finally broke down and bought Triaxis and 2:90

In my opinion, the Triaxis can't do Killswitch Engage type stuff. My band plays "End of Heartache" and I can't get that tone. As good as the Triaxis is, I think it needs to be blended with another amp.....like Hetfield does.

Finally broke down and bought Triaxis and 2:90

When you lose your sustain....it could be many factors at play, but I can get sustain for days with a 7.0 gain setting. Either the Master isn't high enough, or the power amp isn't high enough....bedroom volumes are gonna laugh at you when sustain is needed. I understand the liquid feeling...

Finally broke down and bought Triaxis and 2:90

Elvis, what pick-ups are you using? I'm using active EMG's in all my guitars, and they are very hot pick-ups. Although, the better guitar player you become, the more you will see lowering your gain will actually make your tone better! Here's a cool article...

Finally broke down and bought Triaxis and 2:90

I agree Jackie....although I have my DV at 2.0 when using Lead 1 Red, plus a tube screamer running in front.

Finally broke down and bought Triaxis and 2:90

You should try Ld 2 Red with a DV between 3.5-4.5. Gain at 7.0-7.5, Lead 2 Drive at 6.5-7.0. Make sure the presence is low...2.0 or 3.0. Treble at 5.0-6.0. Adjust Bass to taste, I usually go as high as I can until mud is introduced, then back off....Mids around 3.5-4.0..Engage the deep on the...

Mixing EL34 and 6L6 in old 2:90 - need confirmation

I'm curious in this, as I'm close to a retube. I don't have to do any biasing? I can just throw in some EL34's???

Triaxis... not really happy with it

I think there might be something wrong, because my Triaxis produces TOO MUCH low-mids. Try this setting on LD1 Red 6.0, 5.5, 7.0, 6.0, 6.0, 0.0, 5.0, 5.0, 2.0 and switch on Modern on the 2:90. There should be a lot of low-mids present here. I actually use a Tube Screamer before the Triaxis...

Triaxis FX loop: Parallel, serial or programable?

I put my 2290 and G-force after the pre-amp too, sounds better to my ears, plus allowed me to use the fx loop for my compressor/gate.

Is this kind of setup "normal"?

I have a Boss EQ in front that's slightly dipping out 200 hz ,and boosting 800 hz......This has allowed me to turn the Bass up to 6 or 7 while having the deep engaged. I also use a hi pass filter EQ after the preamp taking out 60 Hz and below. I know you should always use your ears, but...

    Mesa 2:90 Volume question

Rule everything out and plug your guitar straight into the 2:90...switch it to guitar level obviously. How's that sound?

    Triaxis Tones

Great sound man! My 2:90 is in need of a retube.....Did you have Mesa put the KT88's in for you?

2:90 pops when 1/2 drive is engaged

Here's something I've always wondered about. Since it said Unsheilded cables in the manual. I first connected them with Speaker Cables that said unshielded on them(or is all Speaker Cable unshielded)? I got the pop then, and I get the pop now with guitar shielded cables...
