    Early Dual Rectifier Question

Thanks a lot for the information and advice, guys. I have noticed there are a lot fewer amps actually successfully selling on eBay these days then there were a few years ago (of all types and brands). I think I'm going to wait a bit - not to try to get more per say, just to see if the market...

    Early Dual Rectifier Question

I have a 1992 Dual Rectifier. (Serial number 771 - blackface, black body). I'm thinking about selling it since I don't use heavy distortion in my music very much anymore (though its clean channel is absolutely stellar as well). These amps seem to be fairly sought after - in your opinion, do...

    FS: Dual Rectifier #771

Just talked to Mesa. They looked up the serial and verified that it is a Standard Oversized Recto Cab.

    FS: Dual Rectifier #771

2 Channel Dual Rectifier Serial # 771 Lots of images here: http://www.junkgrave.com/mesa/ She's in superb condition. I've recently cleaned all her contacts, and she has all new power (EL34) and rectifier tubes. All preamp tubes were NOS (mostly Mullard and RCA), but now have about a year of...

    My New Rig: Pics Included

Is that a blackface w/ black chassis? I've only ever seen pics of blackface 2CH DR's with chrome chassis. Mine is the only I've ever seen with black face, black chassis, and black grills on front and top. (Although I'm sure there's more out there.) Oh, and what's the serial number? :)

Using a stereo cab with two heads

I already posted the truth on the subject. That electrician must not have been much of an audiophile.

Using a stereo cab with two heads

My post remains just as valid as before you made those three threads, regardless of whatever talk may go on inside them. And I'm sorry, but as long as you continue to press the subject, it appears as if you don't "not want to see any one hurt or do damage to their gear". Quite the opposite...

Using a stereo cab with two heads

You have got to be kidding me. The statement stands. Stephen - you can ground your heads through the input jack if you want to, all I did was teach how to do it properly for the OTHER people here. Now I'm asking you nicely to please STOP recommending / endorsing / whatever the three-to-two...

    Roadster channel switching lag

I'd just like to say that I do a similar thing on my Recto and it does work. It's part of a process of things I do, including tuning my guitar, while the amp is warming up. Never considered it a hassle. What would be a hassle, however, is if I didn't do it and the amp popped or delayed during...

Using a stereo cab with two heads

If you don't have a power conditioner, I'd recommend using at least a high quality surge protector. But yes, both amps and all effects should be running off the same outlet, ideally the same conditioner. Most ground loop problems are caused simply because amps are plugged into different...

    Roadster channel switching lag

Actually he never left standby in the first place, he's in standby during that whole process, and then he unleashes current.

The recto's outer cover is made of the same material Armor All is designed to clean / polish. It will make it look shiny and cool.

buyin single rec from US to AUS, Ebay...

The alternative being to learn it yourself and teach the seller - how to remove the tubes and package them separately, and how to properly pack an amplifier. I believe that Mesa Boogie will actually tell you how to do this over the phone if I remember correctly. I guess that store makes sense...

Using a stereo cab with two heads

I use multiple amplifiers as well. Back when I used two, I experimented with trying all the cheap A/Bs before going for the VooDoo Lab Amp Selector - and I'm sorry to say this, but they all added hum / distortion / a variety of other tonal changes to the amps. The VooDoo Lab Amp Selector is...

buyin single rec from US to AUS, Ebay...

Also, you'll get more replies from the awesome collection of experienced Mesa users here (and there are a few who also live in Australia) if you change the subject of this thread to the actual subject. (Something more like "Buying a Recto in Australia" and less like "hi".)

buyin single rec from US to AUS, Ebay...

Just out of curiosity (I may be moving to Australia from the states) where would you buy one there - what stores sell Mesas? Unless they're really considerably more expensive than they are in the states, I would imagine you'd be better off buying one brand new. There have been a lot of reports...

    What the...? (Tube Sockets)

Aye, trey - I'm sure I'd be fine if I didn't clean any of it, 'cause the burns were only on the one big hole and on the outer surfaces of the sockets - not in the pinholes themselves where the tubes slide. Just did it 'cause I love her. :) Funny you said that, 'cause I actually did clean...
