I use a jumper wire with alligator chips which works really well. Hook up the wires with the amp unplugged and power and standby off... then flip power and standby to on position... a minute later all set. I also do pin 3 of an output tube on top of that just to be sure.

Wow... talk about fear mongering... There are other ways to sell your tubes. I like Mesa amps but don't like that they try to scare people. Plus, that whole story in my manual about Mesa's being fixed bias because bias pots can vibrate out of position just doesn't hold up to reason.

Midwest Buy and Sell on Irving Park in West Chicago. They have quite a few used Mesa heads (duals, triples, stilettos, and Mark IV combo last time I was there). Prices are ok. Better than Guitar Center but higher than ebay. Chicago craigs list is a waste.... a bunch of people selling amps...
